Abstract Sample: ![]() V. 2014 Plant Biology 10 min-English Speech Competition2014 Plant Biology 10 min-English Speech Competition is a 2 stage competition.1st stage will be based on your research abstract on any topic related with plant biology. The top 12 abstract submitters will be informed on Tuesday, November 4th to prepare for the 2nd stage and the rest of the submitters will rejoin the Poster Presentation Competition. Each presentation in the Oral Presentation Competition must be delivered in English. The selected students or assistants will present their speech by 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 14th. When delivered, the speech should be between 7 to 8 minutes and audience will have 2 minutes to ask questions. Judging and Scoring Criteria The Presentations will be judged in three categories; Delivery and Effectiveness 50%, Content 40%, and Discussion 10%. Awards and Recognition Judges will select First, Second and Third Place winners based on the criteria specified in the competition score sheet.
VI. 2014 Plant Biology Poster Presentation CompetitionAbstracts can only be submitted electronically through the registration system.Please register for our conference before the submission of your abstract. All abstracts must be submitted as a word document and followed with our abstract template. Poster Guidelines The poster display space is 90 cm high x 140 cm wide. Prepare your poster accordingly. Posters cannot exceed these dimensions. The poster should be displayed at the exhibit/poster hall before 1:00 p.m. and the oral presentations will be held by 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on December 13, 2014. All posters not removed by 4 p.m. on December 14, 2014 will be discarded. An exact time for the competition will be announced in the conference brochure. A final confirmation on the presentation details will be sent about three weeks in advance of the conference. Again, presenters must be registered for the 2014 Plant Science Annual Conference. Judging and Scoring Criteria The Presentations will be judged in three categories; Delivery and Effectiveness 50%, indicates information should be presented in a concise, interesting, and easy to understand format, Content 40%, and Format 10%. Poster should contain all of the needed elements and each is presented in appropriate detail. Awards and Recognition Based on total accumulated points awarded by the judges, a reasonable percentage of the presenters will be awarded and recognized as the 2014 Plant Biology Poster Presentation Competition winners.
