I.  Registration

All participants are kindly requested to register in advance by completing and submitting the registration form with membership fees.

Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the Registration System, and please note your group and which competition (details as below) you are going to participate in.

The deadline for abstract submission: October 26th, 2016.

The competition will be divided in to 4 different groups by academic identity and research area:
For Postdoctoral and PhD students
Group 1: Taxonomy, Morphology, Ecology, Evolution
Group 2: Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology
For Undergraduates, graduates, and undergraduate/ graduate research assistants
Group 3: Taxonomy, Morphology, Ecology, Evolution
Group 4: Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology

The poster exhibition will be divided in to 2 groups:
Group 1:New laboratory exhibition
Qualification: Laboratory was established within 5 years are eligible to join this exhibtion.
Purpose: Improve new laboratory visibility and attract interested students.
Content: Laboratory professional profile and research results.
Group 2:Research exhibition

Please register for our conference before the submission of your abstract.

Abstract Guideline
  • The abstract should be written in English.
  • Margins are 3.18 cm on the sides and 2.54 cm on top and bottom in A4 format.
  • Title should be 16-point Times New Roman, bold and center.
  • Abstract should be written in 12-point Times New Roman, single spaced, and aligned.
  • Abstract should state briefly the problem, the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions, shouldn't exceed 250 words.
  • The document should be submitted as a Word document, a pdf is not acceptable. The name of presenter should be underlined.
  • The name of Word document:
    1. Poster Competition: "Group no. - Full name",
      e.g. 4- Paul Dupree.doc
    2. Poster Exhibition: "E-Group-Full name", e.g. E-1-Diana Spencer.doc

V.  2016 Plant Biology Poster Presentation Competition

All abstracts must be submitted as a word document and followed with our abstract template.

Poster Guidelines

The poster display space is 140 cm high x 90 cm wide. Prepare your poster accordingly. Posters cannot exceed these dimensions.
The poster should be displayed at the exhibit/poster hall before 1:00 p.m. and the oral presentations will be held by 3:40 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on November 26th, 2016. An exact time for the competition will be announced in the conference brochure. A final confirmation on the presentation details will be sent about three weeks in advance of the conference. Again, presenters must be registered for the 2016 Plant Science Annual Conference.

Judging and Scoring Criteria

The Presentations will be judged in three categories; Delivery and Effectiveness 50%, indicates information should be presented in a concise, interesting, and easy to understand format, Content 40%, and Format 10%.
Poster should contain all of the needed elements and each is presented in appropriate detail.

Awards and Recognition

Based on total accumulated points awarded by the judges, a reasonable percentage of the presenters will be awarded and recognized as the 2016 Plant Biology Poster Presentation Competition winners.
